First post-jam update!


Now that it's a week after the jam, I got the project to where I wanted it for the jam.  Better late than never!  The good news is that I have many more updates to come.

In this release:

  • fixed transparency issues with some sprites
  • implemented armor crafting and suit upgrades
  • added player death in the form of permadeath
  • added more advanced behavior to the bugs
  • added robot spider enemy with new resource drops
  • implemented grappling hook, made jetpack part of suit upgrade
  • improved the UI 
  • a number of minor bug fixes

To come:

  • implement more crafting recipes, focusing on base building and defenses
  • add events such as bug infestations, meteor swarms, and more
  • add more enemy types
  • add biomes and unlock additional moons
  • genetic research and cloning tech (thereby overcoming permadeath)
  • introduce some simple story beats and more game "chapters"
  • continuous fine-tuning
  • mines, grenades, and turrets
  • maybe a boss or two
